Friends With Heart

Hi Everyone!
I'm so ready to get rid of this snow and get back outside again.  The Central MA Heart Walk is approaching quickly on May 14th and I'm ready for some spring time weather!
I hope you all will consider walking with the Friends With Heart Team this year on May 14th, in Worcester.  I know it is a busy time of the year (it is Jr prom night for us!) But It is a very important endeavor for many Friends With Heart families.   (and it's our 10th Anniversary walking! )  Last year our team was awarded top Community group raising over $500,000 for Congenital Heart Disease Research!!   This is an extraordinary accomplishment by "a bunch of parents" not only to raise money but to have made a huge impact in the eyes of the American Heart Association and our communities!

It is a super fun day, for everyone with; bouncy houses, music, giveaways, free food, friends and support.    Why not create a Friends With Heart Team for your Heart Warrior?   There is a 1, 3 and 5 mile walk. Friends with Heart supplies t-shirts to all who come on walk day whether they raise money or not.  Many families make signs with their Heart Warrior's picture on it.  Other's make pins, carry balloons or do other creative things to raise awareness of our country's #1 Birth Defect

We hope that you can join us for this very important event.  I have team captain packages that have walker packets, posters, information  and ideas to make a difference. Please let me know if I or Laura Liston, AHA, Walk director (and many other hats) can meet up with you or mail out a packet to you.

NEW this year-  Wagon and Stroller Parade!   Are your kids to little to walk?   Well then grab your wagons and tell all of your walkers and decorate your child's stroller or wagon with cray paper, balloons, drawing, photos or anything that you like to raise awareness of Congenital Heart Disease!    Vote for your favorite at our tent site. Winner will win a family prize!  What a fun family activity that can be!  

Over April vacation, we will have a similar activity for older kids, maybe hats or visors  stay tuned!

As always we will have a Friends With Heart Raffle at our tent site and are asking for families to donate something to put in the raffle.
